STEP 1) Apply for admission into the university.
STEP 2) Apply for Williams Works
STEP 3) Get accepted for admission into WBU, then your application for Williams Works will be submitted for review.
STEP 4) At some point we’d like to have you on campus for a personal tour or preview day. *Exceptions can be made!
Students will be invited to officially join the program on March 1st.
Because spots are very limited for this program, a separate application is required for Williams Works.
Requirements for Admission
Like all colleges and universities, WBU has specific admission criteria, but you’re much more than a high school transcript.
Preference is given for academic success as demonstrated by:
1. ACT of at least 20 or SAT of at least 1030. No particular score is a guarantee of admittance.
2. At least a 2.6 average on a 4.0 scale.
3. A satisfactory class rank based on the standards of the particular high school attended.
____
Any applicants deficient in one of the admissions criteria (ACT or SAT, GPA) may be admitted under condition or probation but will have restrictions placed on their enrollment.
Students admitted under condition or probation will be required to participate in the Freshman Focus Program and to achieve a GPA of 1.5 or higher, on 12 semester hours at the end of the first semester to avoid academic suspension.
Applicants with an ACT composite score less than 17, or a high school GPA less than 2.25 will be denied admission.
Can denied applicants still enroll?
Being denied admission isn’t necessarily a permanent status! If you’re denied, then…
1. Retake the ACT or SAT and earn at least a 17.
2. Raise your GPA to a 2.25 or higher before you graduate.
3. Submit your new and final scores, and we will review your application again.
____
If you still do not meet both criteria upon graduating high school, then your admissions counselor will provide you with additional opportunities to try to get accepted… such as taking the ACT residual test or going through the appeal process. (we usually wait until the Spring semester before we explore these options)
Take the next steps in joining the WBU family!
